Praying to Saint Catherine

A man kneels at a mantelpiece, hands clasped, looking up at a lady in a blue off-the-shoulder gown who seems to step out of her gold frame. Candles, a skull and a green velvet curtain set the scene. A painting about devotion, longing and what we ask of the figures we look up to.
